„You see, I am a poet, and not quite right in the head, Darling“.

This line from a poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay inspired a program of poems by American women poets, many of which were set to music by various American composers.  The mezzo-soprano Rebecca Martin will sing songs by Aaron Copland, John Duke, William Bolcom, and others, accompanied by the pianist Karina Habuchiya.  The songs are interspersed with poems recited by Marsha Cox, who is known as a performer, teacher, and director.  The poems, all by American women, are chosen to display the inner lives of women, calm or crazy, joyful or despairing, accepting or rebelling,
